The North/South Lake Campground is the largest campground in the Catskill Mountains of New York. It is the start of the Escarpment Trail, one of the long distance trails in the area and popular Trail Running route.
Campground Amenities
The campground has over 200 sites including sites for RV hookups, and access to lakes, beaches, picnic areas, grills, toilets, showers, a boat launch, horseshoe pits, fishing, fields, and more.
Access
The North-South Lake Campground is located close to the Catskill Mountain House Site, which is the historical site of a major hotel destination in the 19th and early 20th centuries. The Escarpment Trail which runs by this site looks down the Great Catskill Escarpment, which is a steep drop-off and cliff that descends about 2,000 ft. into the Hudson Valley.
