The Mink Hollow Lean-To is a Lean-To Shelter in the Catskill Mountains of New York. It rests in Mink Hollow which is a depression between Sugarloaf and Plateau Mountains. It is one of a few camping area along the Devil's Path, one of the long distance trails in the area and considered by some to be one of the most dangerous hikes in the Northeast. To be precise, this campsite is where the Devil's Path and the Mink Hollow Trail come together. The area offers not only a lean-to shelter but a few campsites nearby. This area is on the eastern half of the Devil's Path and can also be accessed via Mink Hollow Road, and is only 0.5 miles from the road.

Water

There is no water to speak of at the campsite itself, however, it can usually be found only a few tenths of a mile to the north on the Mink Hollow Trail.

Bathrooms

There is a primitive privy / outhouse at this camping area. Hikers using the area should practice leave no trace practices.

Mountain Access

The entire Devil's Path range of mountains could theoretically be accessed from this site, however, it is most commonly used for access to Sugarloaf mountain to the east, or Plateau mountain to the west. A popular route for peakbaggers is to park at Mink Hollow road and out-and-back both peaks in a single day, which makes for a steep day hike filled with a lot of elevation gain.
